Jeff Hamilton Trio – Coppenhagen
Jeff Hamilton’s world-class drumming is characterized by being super swinging, very melodically performed with a touch, timing and a creativity that only experiences when a top of the line star occupies the scene. He is considered to be the most swinging drummer by many, and his CV clearly states that he is sought after by the big jazz icons. In 1977, he became a member of the Woody Hermans Orchestra, and from there recordings and tours all over the world started: LA Four, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Brown, Monty Alexander, Count Basie Orchestra and not the least Oscar Peterson, whose group was a regular member of for 5 years, and Natalie Cole, where Hamilton contributed to the two Grammy winning releases Unforgettable and Still Unforgettable. With him in the trio, Hamilton has the Israeli pianist Tamir Hendelman and countryman Christoph Luty on bass. Both musicians live in Los Angeles with impressive careers. The three of them really make the trio format shine bright when they meet on stage!
