The Chisholm Jazz Legacy Series at Kerrytown Concert House presents The Jeff Hamilton Trio

Kerrytown Concert House proudly launches The Chisholm Jazz Legacy Series, a new annual concert series established through an endowment gift from Betty Chisholm in memory of her late husband, Don Chisholm. A devoted champion of jazz throughout his life, Don brought his passion for the music to KCH’s stage and to the countless musicians who came to know him over the years. This series carries that legacy forward, bringing nationally recognized jazz artists of the highest caliber to Ann Arbor each year — many of them musicians who knew Don personally and share in his enduring love of the art form.

The inaugural performance features a special appearance by the Jeff Hamilton Trio, led by one of jazz’s most celebrated drummers. With a career spanning over five decades, Jeff Hamilton has performed and/or recorded with Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson, Diana Krall, Rosemary Clooney, and Natalie Cole, among many others, and has appeared on more than 300 recordings. A four-time winner of the Modern Drummer Readers’ Poll and a 2014 inductee into the Jazz Cruise Hall of Fame, Hamilton co-leads the Grammy-nominated Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and continues to tour internationally with his own trio. He is joined by pianist Tadataka Unno and bassist Jon Hamar, completing a group celebrated for its swinging interplay, impeccable taste, and deep command of the jazz tradition.
