Jeff Hamilton Trio At Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola

Drummer Jeff Hamilton is known as a bandleader, a co-leader of the Clayton-Hamilton Orchestra, and as a sideman for such artists as Ray Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Monty Alexander, and Diana Krall. Tonight, he leads his regular trio, featuring pianist Tamir Hendelman and bassist Christoph Luty. The group performs original compositions by each member, plus tunes by Thelonious Monk, Ray Brown, and the occasional (and wholly rewritten) pop hit. Hamilton is regarded as a master drummer, and his trio is a sure bet for fans of hard-swinging, straight-ahead jazz.
